My dog is dying. Heβs 18
and turns circles when he eats;
spinning like a clock near his bowl,
each turn taking him closer to death.
My son says βThereβs an escalator
that goes to doggie heaven.β
He asks if he can go there
to see the dogs at play.
My dog looks like a fox
though he was never cunning.
He’s always splayed and half asleep
but in my mind he’s running like he used to;
his trim legs grabbing at grass with glee.
When he dies, so will a part of me.
Plz see my post

so sad π¦ you obviously love him very much; I know what it’s like to lose a dog, someone esp one that’s been part of the family so long; my granddaughter thought that Chloe would still be chasing balls up there in Heaven π reaching out to you π

This is a beautifully written poem, but I’m so sorry. It is so hard to watch a beloved pet grow old and sick and then to lose a beloved friend…Thinking of you and your little fox! Sending you hugs!
